It is amazing how Honda could achieve such a feat of automotive

engineering. This hybrid car can achieve 0 to 60 in just 6.7 seconds and while maintaining a sleek, elegant design and still get 30 miles to the gallon in the city and an impressive 37 miles to the gallon on the interstate.

One of the cool aspects of this car is the fact that other than some small graphics on its dash board the Honda Accord Hybrid has disguised itself as just another Accord. The difference in the car is hardly visible but the performance is incredible. As a matter of fact, this Honda Hybrid Accord has the best performance record of any of the Honda four door Accords and it can literally out run the V6 by 0.3 seconds going to 60. So this electric hybrid can really move!

Honda is trying to make their electric hybrid cars blend in, placing a very low profile on the fact that this car is a hybrid. One possible reason for this is that savvy car enthusiasts and intelligent consumers might notice some differences in a hybrid from a regular gas guzzler. For instance: 11.2 cubic feet of storage space. That's because 2.8 feet of cubic cargo space is given up to the traction battery and its ventilation system. Also, the backseat back rest does not fold forward.

On the dash board, of course you have a couple of changes so that the hybrid functions and indicators are place there for your convenience. There are some charge and assist indicators there as well as an ECO light that tells you that your car is running on only 3 front cylinders. Your mom will be so proud of you! Most people that test drove the Honda Accord Hybrid said that they could barely tell the difference from when the vehicle was running on all 6 cylinders instead of the 3.

About the only feature that concerned us on this vehicle, was he fact that the manufacturer decided to not have a spare tire in the back. Perhaps this was because of the traction battery taking up a little space. Honda has replaced the spare tire with an air compressor and a can of sealant. As far as electric hybrid cars go, the Honda Accord Hybrid is a moderately priced hybrid wit a $30,000 price tag. This will be more than made up though, in terms of dealing with rising gas prices.
