For all of you golfing enthusiasts out there I decided to include a special section of our Web site on the different types of electric golf carts there are out there and how they can be bought, sold and used to keep our planet clean.

For some people (especially retirees in gated communities) electric golf carts are becoming more of a way of life. I have relatives that live in “The Villages” a real elite community in Florida.

It is such a big place that it is actually it’s own city. This community has installed it’s own golf cart paths all through its community so that the people there can easily get around in electric golf carts. It is a great system and very helpful to the environment, plus it even allows all of their grandchildren get in a little driving experience.

As I was sitting near a veranda listening to different bands play in this city called the Villages, I was amazed by all of the different types of electric golf carts there were. Not only are these carts being found in retired/golfing communities but also they are being used extensively in airports, universities and corporations.

The design an configuration has been altered into many different incarnations. Some of these electric motorized carts have areas in the back of them similar to truck beds so that gardening materials can be hauled.

Because of this type of integration in some communities the average electric golf cart has taken on a different identity and look. It is no longer simply a little cart with wheels that is run by an electric motor. Today’s electric golf carts are moving in to the luxury market just like other tangible items. Some people have even given these electric carts newer titles such as “golf cars” and “utility vehicles”.

Whatever the case, the golf cart has evolved and is now filling in a whole new niche market for manufacturers. Since there are so many types of these new electric motorized vehicles, it is advisable to consider what the heck you will be using the cart for.

If you are going to be hauling things around in one like plants or shrubbery then you should get one with a bed in it. If you are going to be driving your fancy pants friends around the Villages or some other community then a more upscale type of electric motorized cart would be advisable.

If you happen to be working on a farm, you can even get what is known as a trail utility vehicle which is great for working on rougher types of terrain. One of the nice things about an electric golf cart is that because they are driven by electric motors, they have low maintenance needs. On the average electric golf cart there are very few moving parts and they rarely break down.
